Community Tour – Green Dome Debut
May 31, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.Have you ever wondered what happens to your water after it disappears down the drain? At our community tours you’ll learn about the journey of water, witness the water recycling process, and see how IRWD encourages water efficiency and environmental stewardship.
Plus, for the first time ever, the tour will take customers inside IRWD's new Biosolids and Energy Recovery Facility.
The tour requires up to 3 miles of walking on asphalt. Please wear comfortable closed-toe shoes.
The day will include:
- Microscope demonstration
- Water efficiency discussion
- Walking tour of Michelson Water Recycling Plant
- Walking tour of Biosolids and Energy Recovery Facility
- Informative videos
- Q&A session
- Lunch
Community tours are free for IRWD customers, but registration is required. Please note: this tour does not include the San Joaquin Marsh.
