IRWD students shine in water poster contest
Congratulations to the following local student winners of the Municipal Water District of Orange County's annual Water Awareness Poster Contest! Some of these winning entries will be selected to move on to the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California's annual contest for the chance to win a spot in MWD's annual "Water is Life" calendar.
Every year, IRWD hosts a local poster contest from among schools within the District's service area, including all of Irvine and parts of Tustin, Lake Forest, Newport Beach, Orange, Costa Mesa and unincorporated areas of Orange County. Selected entries from that contest are forwarded to MWDOC for the regional competition, with chosen winners from that contest moving on to the final MWD challenge. Posters are selected by grade based on the originality and clarity of the message as well as the artistic level and the overall uniqueness.
