Bill pay services

IRWD strives to keep customer rates as low as possible. As a not-for-profit public agency, we continually look for ways to reduce costs, because costs put pressure on rates.
When a customer uses a credit/debit card or other online service to pay their bill, the credit card companies charge IRWD for the transaction. These costs continue to go up. As a result, to reduce costs and keep rates low, we are making changes to our payment options.
The best option for customers is to enroll in autopay using an eCheck or ACH payment as a no-hassle, no-fee option to ensure timely payments. To sign up, visit our bill pay portal, sign into your account (or register for one), choose autopay as your method of payment, and select eCheck/ACH as your payment option.
Changes to IRWD payment options
Because of credit card fees and the rules that govern credit and debit card transactions, beginning July 1, 2025, IRWD will no longer accept credit cards or debit cards for automatic payments. This includes autopay using PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo and other online payment services.
IRWD will still be able to accept credit and debit cards for one-time payments; however, there will be a convenience fee charged by the company that processes those payments. This includes payments though PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo and other services. IRWD does not receive any part of that fee.
Cash payments can be made at Walmart and Scan to Pay locations.
