Woodbridge pipeline replacement project

WVA Facilities Map BLACK 032922

Woodbridge has the proud distinction of being one of the first communities in the nation to use recycled water for landscape irrigation. Now, nearly 40 years later, some of the pipeline installed in the 1970s and early 1980s has reached the end of its useful life and will have to be replaced.

To prepare the community for the next 50 years, Irvine Ranch Water District is replacing 9 miles of new recycled water pipeline within the community.

Work began in June 2022 and will continue into May 2024.

Slurry sealing of all roadwork construction areas will be done once all work is completed.

Construction hours will be limited to Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for arterial streets, and from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for non-arterial streets. Click on the project updates bar below for construction details.

For more information, please call 949-453-5500 or email info@IRWD.com.

Week of May 6, 2024: Slurry sealing will begin this week and continue into the following week, starting on East Yale Loop, Fallbrook, Yale Avenue and adjoining residential streets where pipeline installation occurred in the northeast quadrant, then moving to the northwestern quadrant along West Yale Loop. Unfinished areas, along with South Loop streets, will be slurry-sealed the following week.

Week of April 15, 2024: Paving will continue in the south loop area. The City of Irvine will be performing annual pavement rehabiliation this weekend on Alton Parkway from Paseo Westpark to Jeffrey Road, with missing spots completed the following weekend.

Week of April 8, 2024: Pavement restoration will take place on North Yale Loop, moving to the south loop later in the week. One lane will be closed on West Yale Loop at Stone Creek North and South on Monday through Friday of this week to replace part of a concrete crosswalk that was affected by trenching. Paving along the south loop will continue into the week of April 15.

Week of April 1, 2024: Pavement restoration will resume April 1, beginning at West Yale Loop and Stone Creek South, and heading north around the loop to Eastshore and Woodspring. From there, paving will focus on Stone Creek North and Stone Creek South, picking up side streets of Warner, Deerwood, Shorebird, Alderwood, Fallbrook, Ashwood, Lemongrass and Yale. Landscape restoration will take place once paving work is completed, including the raising of valve cans to grade level.

March 2024: Contractors are installing base pavement along the north loop, and will be continuing that work along the south loop the week of March 11. Final paving will begin the week of March 18, beginning on Alton Parkway from East Yale to West Yale loop.
