Temporary Construction Meters application process

HYDRANT CONSTRUCTION / FLUSHING CONSTRUCTION METERS

Temporary Construction Meters (TCM) are for water use on construction projects. Please check FAQ below or email plancheck@IRWD.com for more information.

STEP 1: Download TCM Application

STEP 2: Deliver printed application for review and approval to Development Services:

Open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Please arrive by 4:30 p.m.
Closed alternating Fridays and holidays

STEP 3: Submit processed application and check deposit to the Customer Service Counter for account setup and meter installation coordination. Please note the lead time of one (1) business day. Meter cannot be transferred to other companies or developers. Company Tax I.D. is required on application.

REMINDERS

As of July 2024, all hydrant construction meters shall require a backflow device.


Floating meters are no longer permitted.

  • Dust Control, Land Establishment, Street Sweeping, Mixing Concrete, Sales/Construction Trailer, etc.
  • Sales/Construction trailer require backflow device and plan approval prior to installation. Submit civil engineering plans to Development Services at plancheck@IRWD.com.
